The Lucas Lounge

Happy new year everyone!

There’s a lot of pressure on the year of 2020, being the first of the new decade, it will have to set the tone for the years to come. Given that us gamers and film junkies were absolutely spoilt for choice during the 2010s, the 2020s will have a lot to live up to! With the new decade in full swing, I asked everyone around the office, out of all the games and films coming out this year, what would you be first in line for?

Adam – The new Chris Nolan film Tenet. The prologue was amazing, this seems like a harder edged Inception, combining black ops with time-bending action.

Jonathan – Cyberpunk 2077 – I have been looking forward to this since it was announced which feels like ages ago. Witcher 3 was my fave game ever I know it’s gonna be goooood.

Madeleine – Final Fantasy VII – It looks absolutely gorgeous! It is a super popular game that is finally getting released, and the new gameplay system looks really cool.

David – Fall Guys by Mediatonic – Looks like a really fun game that will bring a madness similar to Takeshi’s Castle.

Anita – James Bond – Because of Daniel Craig!

Stefan – Anticipated Game – Cyberpunk 2077. I used to DM the table top game back in high school. Pity CDPR couldn’t find a multiplayer TD so we could have co-op.
Anticipated Telly – Altered Carbon Season 2 – Richard Morgan’s trilogy is my go-to book-on-holiday reading material and I am excited to see the new Captain America as Takeshi Kovacs and his new motley crew of mercenaries taking on … (SPOILERS) …

Yasmin – Avenger’s by Square Enix – Because it’s avengers!
World of Warcraft Shadow Lands – Because it looks sick!

Kane– Animal Crossing – We haven’t had one for ages and it is long overdue, I’m looking forward to playing a stress-free game. Also, a shout out to the new Pokémon DLC.

Lucas – Kakarot – When I was really young my absolute favourite game was Dragon Ball Z Budokai for ps2. It was way ahead of its time. Having briefly played Kakarot at EGX I cannot wait to get my hands on it, for the nostalgia value alone!

Daria – James Bond – I am looking forward to seeing a female agent kicking ass!

Natalie – Black Widow – Fingers crossed it’s as good as I’m hoping!

Happy New Year!

Welcome to our first newsletter of 2020.

Looking back; 1918 saw British women win the vote, 1919 saw Dutch women win the right to vote, and 100 years ago, in 1920, American Women finally won the right to vote.

It is also a leap year this year and the Year of the Rat, which officially marks the start of the Chinese Zodiac and is said to bring Wealth and Surplus.

According to some movies, we will either be colonising the Moon, be left stranded on Mars, or see robots boxing in place of humans…

Whatever you do, we hope this decade has a lot in store for all of you and wish you every success.
