Senior Game Designer – AAA – 4 day working week

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Game Designer to play a pivotal role in the design and development of key game features, ensuring their successful implementation from start to finish. In this role, you will not only uphold and actualize the game’s vision but also set and assess quality standards across various disciplines within the entire project.

Your responsibilities include forging a cohesive game experience through detailed documentation, engaging presentations, and direct interactions with your team. It is essential that all stakeholders are aligned with your design concepts, providing the necessary clarity for your team to excel.

As a mentor and advisor, you will support your fellow designers, collaborating with the production team on task planning and estimation. Your involvement in peer-reviews will be crucial, offering constructive feedback while also embracing input from your colleagues to foster mutual growth and development.

You will oversee the testing and refinement of game features, leveraging player feedback and analytical data to enhance the gaming experience. From prototype to live service, your commitment will ensure the delivery of outstanding game features.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in AAA game development at a senior level.
  • A keen insight into player psychology, including motivations and behaviors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of game design principles, particularly in game systems.
  • The capacity to operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Awareness of the latest industry trends across game genres, gameplay mechanics, and business models.
  • Proficiency in prototyping game mechanics.
  • Expertise in drafting clear, concise design documentation.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Application of mathematical concepts in system design, analysis, and balancing.
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Background in designing shooter games.
  • Involvement in a complete development cycle for a PC or Console title from either the current or a previous generation.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Blueprints or scripting/programming.
