Senior Level Designer (Combat) – AAA – Sweden/Denmark

Our AAA client is looking for a Senior Level Designer with a focus on combat to contribute to an exciting new project. This upcoming action-adventure game, presents a unique opportunity to shape engaging and immersive player experiences.

As a Level Designer, you will be integral in creating challenging and captivating combat environments, optimizing level layouts, and utilizing industry-standard tools for level design. Collaborating with diverse teams, including game designers and programmers, you will ensure the seamless integration of mechanics and systems from prototyping to implementation.

In addition to your design responsibilities, you will take on a mentoring role, guiding fellow level designers in adopting best practices related to level/combat design.


• Develop intricate combat environments that challenge player skills and enhance immersive experiences.

• Optimize level layouts for balanced and memorable combat scenarios.

• Utilize industry-standard tools for designing, building, and scripting levels.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure proper implementation of mechanics and systems.

• Work with content teams to ensure coherence between level playability and graphic elements.

• Own the player experience within your levels, advocating for excellence within the team.

• Create and maintain comprehensive level documentation for the wider team.

• Conduct thorough playtesting, reviews, and iterations to enhance player experience.

• Efficiently manage and prioritize tasks and bug lists to ensure a streamlined development process.


• 5+ years of relevant experience in level design, with a strong AAA portfolio showcasing your work.

• Passion and expertise in crafting levels with a focus on combat scenarios for PC/Console action-adventure games.

• Proficiency with 3D level editors and visual scripting for games.

• Hands-on experience with various proprietary game engines.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective coordination with diverse teams.

This role is hybrid in either Sweden or Denmark. Relocation and Visa support can be provided.

Prior experience in these areas would be desirable but the studio really values talent and passion above all else!
